Information

Covenants are crucial in the Bible as they form the relational structure and unfolding narrative of God's plan for humanity. These passages are foundational.

Psalm 105:8 says, “He hath remembered His covenant for ever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations.”

John 10:27-29  says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”

Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call to me and I will answer you, and I will show you great and mighty things, which you do not know".

Psalm 91 :15 says, “He (the believer) will call upon me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.”

Joshua 1:9 says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,"  Below see recommended reading!

Discover the Biblical Blueprint for Building Relationships that Last!

Even though the topic of relationships is very popular, few individuals ever reach the point of building deep, lasting, and meaningful bonds with others. Why do our connections with other people seem to stay superficial and never go beyond the surface-level? Because we’ve drifted away from the Biblical blueprint of what covenant relationships are intended to look like.

Ask your self - Have I ever truly been in Covenant?

How we build a covenant with others  is a key to  relationship survival.  It's a key to Spiritual Strength and Development.

Things that Matter

While modern culture does not practice covenant-cutting ceremonies, the spiritual principles remain relevant for building strong, lasting relationships: Family Bonds and Marital Bliss in our  Commitments.

  • Make intentional commitments: Choose to enter into relationships with a sense of purpose and commitment. Define the expectations and promises you are making to each other, like faithfulness in marriage or loyalty in a friendship.
  • Cultivate faithfulness and loyalty: The foundation of a strong covenantal relationship is faithfulness. Model the steadfast love and loyalty that God shows his people.
  • Involve God in your relationships: Invite God to be a witness and a participant in your commitments. Pray together and ask for divine guidance and blessing on your relationships with others.
  • Honor your word: The seriousness of biblical covenants reminds us that our promises to others should not be made or broken lightly. Demonstrate integrity by honoring your commitments, as covenant breakers are condemned in Scripture (Ezekiel 17:19).
  • Build a shared purpose: Biblical covenants often involved working toward a common goal. For example, a married couple can unite around building a life and raising a family with a shared spiritual vision.

Biblical Matters

These examples illustrate the key characteristics of Biblical Covenants made between people & within families:  Something to consider as we grow daily -walking out this journey & lifestyle

  • Binding agreement: Covenants are solemn and binding commitments, not casual agreements. Breaking a covenant was viewed as a heinous sin.
  • Mutual promises and obligations: Each party agrees to fulfill certain conditions. The covenant between David and Jonathan, for instance, involved promises of kindness and protection.
  • Oaths and witnesses: Covenants were often ratified by swearing an oath, sometimes with God as the ultimate witness. This gave the agreement a spiritual charge and seriousness.
  • Signs and ceremonies: A public sign or ritual would often mark the making of a covenant. This could include a shared meal, a gift, or the setting up of a commemorative marker.
  • Extended to families and future generations: Covenants were not always limited to the immediate parties but could extend to their descendants, creating lasting relationships between entire families or peoples.
